OpenSolaris ZFS Storage Server

I have been having this issue. I have a lot of media and files but no place to put them. It seems that with hard drives growing, there is just too much data. Lots of data. I was looking for a solution.

What I found was OpenSolaris, and ZFS.

I am running an Opensolaris x64 OS SunOS 5.11 snv_111b .

• Asus A8V - Deluxe Motherboard
• AMD Athlon 64 3700
• 3 GB Memory
• Dual Netgear GA311 in a teamed configuration
• Zpool 1 - 3x 1TB raidz
• • Shared with windows hosts via samba
  • Shared with ESXi hosts via NFS and iSCSI
• Zpool 2 3x 500GB
